EduTrack

A comprehensive student progress tracking platform built for educators to seamlessly manage classrooms and assignments.

Tech stack: Flutter, Supabase

Repo: https://github.com/basavarajpatil660/edutrack-app

Problem

Educators at small institutions track student attendance, marks, and assignments across paper registers and disconnected spreadsheets. There's no single view that shows a teacher or admin the live status of a classroom — who's falling behind, who needs follow-up — without manual aggregation.

Results

Deployed and live on GitHub. Core features (attendance, marks, role-based dashboards) are working end-to-end. Full marks-management flow in active development.

Challenges

  • Modelling a flexible role hierarchy (student / teacher / admin) entirely in Supabase RLS without leaking data across roles.
  • Building a marks-management UI that handles partial submissions — teachers can save progress mid-entry and resume without data loss.
  • Keeping the Flutter widget tree performant when rendering large attendance grids for classrooms of 60+ students.

Architecture

A Flutter app (single codebase, mobile + web) connects to a Supabase backend. Role-based access control is enforced at the Row-Level Security layer in Postgres: students see only their own records, teachers see their classrooms, admins see everything. Real-time subscriptions push grade and attendance updates live to connected clients.
